Attorney for Complications Linked to Generic Yaz — Ocella
Ocella, a combination birth control pill, was introduced by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries in 2008 and is the generic form of the drugs Yaz and Yasmin. Ocella has the same ingredients as Yaz, including drospirenone, which has been linked to many harmful side effects. If you were taking Ocella and suffered from gall bladder disease, stroke, blood clots or another complication linked to Yaz, please complete and return our firm's Yaz Questionnaire as soon as possible.

Ocella Side Effects & Complications
The controversial ingredient included in Ocella, Yaz and Yasmin is drospirenone, which is well-known for increasing the risk for hyperkalemia, an unsafe level of potassium in the human body. Hyperkalemia can cause pulmonary embolisms, organ failure and other complications, including death.
Drospirenone is not used in any other combination oral contraceptives on the market in the United States.
Ocella Has the Same Ingredients as Yaz & Yasmin
The difference between Yaz and Yasmin is simply the level of dosage. Yasmin comes in the common birth control distribution of 21 active pills and seven inactive pills. Yaz includes 24 active pills and only four inactive pills, so the dosage per active pill is lower than Yasmin. Ocella, the generic form of the drug, can be prescribed at either of these levels and has the same ingredients as Yaz and Yasmin. As many brand-name drugs are not covered by insurance companies, many women are prescribed Ocella.
If you are taking Ocella and have experienced harmful side effects, call Craft Hughes Law, P.C. at 1-888-350-3931 or contact us online to schedule a consultation.
